Oppenheimer analyst Kristen Owen says that while unconfirmed by Trimble, the firm is encouraged by media reports that the company has hired bankers to engage in a sale of its Transportation & Logistics business. Since its 2023 majority interest sale of its Ag business and the 2024 sale of its Mobility business, Oppenheimer has viewed Trimble's T&L business as best owned by someone other than Trimble. The firm's view, which it believes is largely shared by investors, is that the crown jewel of its portfolio stems from its durable AECO software growth engine and to a lesser degree prolific civil construction and geospatial hardware business. Oppenheimer has an Outperform rating on the shares.
