Nano Nuclear Energy announced that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has initiated formal review activities for the Construction Permit Application of its KRONOS micro modular reactor system at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The review follows the regulatory agency's formal acceptance of the application on May 18. According to the projected schedule, the environmental assessment is expected to be completed in the spring of 2027 and the safety evaluation in early fall of 2027. Nano Nuclear expects this timeline will allow for the commencement of initial construction activities on the university campus during the second half of 2027. "The NRC's announcement that review activities are now underway demonstrates continued forward momentum for the KRONOS MMR program following acceptance of the Construction Permit Application," said James Walker, CEO of Nano Nuclear Energy. "We are encouraged that the review schedule outlined by the NRC appears generally consistent with the timeline assumptions we previously communicated following acceptance of the application."

NANO Nuclear Energ announced the acquisition of Secured Transportation Services, a specialized U.S. based, globally operating nuclear logistics, transportation and services company specializing in the safe, secure and compliant movement of radioactive and nuclear materials. "With STS, we now control a vital link in the nuclear value chain that very few companies possess globally. This capability will allow us to move faster, deploy quicker, and deliver our technologies anywhere in the world. We are building infrastructure for the next generation of nuclear energy, and this is a major step forward." STS was acquired by NANO Nuclear's existing transportation subsidiary, Advanced Fuel Transportation Inc., for total consideration valued at up to $13 million. The total purchase price is comprised of $6 million paid in cash at closing, subject to closing adjustments, and $7 million in restricted shares of NANO Nuclear's common stock paid in several installments

Nano Nuclear Energy announced that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has formally accepted the previously submitted Construction Permit Application for the deployment of the company's KRONOS MMR at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. "Acceptance of the Construction Permit Application for review confirms that the NRC has determined the submission contains the information necessary to begin detailed technical evaluation," said Florent Heidet, chief technical officer of Nano Nuclear Energy.
